Vg-1 ?

Cold Steel Master Hunter now is made with a laminated blade of VG-1. Does anyone have experience with the older AUS-8A and the VG-1 and give some comparative info ?? I've had the AUS-8A version for many years as a hunting knife and have recommended it for the excellent steel and over all design.

Not in Cold Steel, but I've used in VG-1 in a Nenox and it is very fun to use. If Masahiro's MBS-26 is their name for VG-1, I've also enjoyed it in Spyderco and Masahiro kitchen knives and wished it was in folding pocketknives (besides the Spyderco Catcherman). Don't know what it does when it's not making dinner.

STR has a Cold Steel Master Hunter with VG-1 and I don't remember reading him complain about the steel.

VG-1 should be an upgrade to AUS-8A and that'll let us move on to more important things like whining about kraton or Lynn Thompson.
