My new 50/50 edge VG-10 Endura has just arrived. Folding Sex!! I'm looking forward to putting into service tomorrow when I'm next on duty. (I'm a wholetime firefighter). I think I've found the ideal firefighter's knife. Serrations when you need serrations, a plain edge with a good sharp point when you need a plain edge with a good sharp point. Well done Spyderco. A Classic.

I'll be purchasing my first Endura, in VG-10, this weekend! I found a good price at my local Academy Outdoors store, only $45+tax!! They only have the Spyderedge model, but that will do just fine for that price.
Because of this store only having the Spyderedge, this gives me a reason to go and buy the Plainedge model later on, too.:D ;) :D

What's the difference between the vg-10 blade and the "old" Endura blade? Pics anyone? :)

The VG-10 blade is polished more finely than the old ATS-55 ones. The grind has changed, too, going from a hollow saber grind to a flat saber grind. The flat grind gives added strength and more stability and control when doing shaving-type cuts, like whittling. However, it also means that the bevel starts pushing waste away sooner, so you'll work harder doing cuts into a material than with a hollow ground blade. Much the same force is required to cut through a material with either blade.

VG-10 Endura??
Ahhhh....yeah bought one, full serrations.
Wow! What a dreadful and sharp beast it is.
Be still my twitching fingers

Enjoy.
