VG-10 SE Howard Viele - designed for what use?

I already own a newer kind of the Viele (SpyderEdged). I want to stretch it's potential and find out wich tasks it can perform without actually having to try it out and risk breakage.

Is it any good for selfdefence... It has a nice and sharp point but maybe somewhat too sleek...? Will it penetrate flesh easily and allow quick retraction?

I'd say the design would work best as a fine use pocket knife. Maybe even a gent's.

I can see it looking great as a steak knife. Just imagine:
16oz newyork steak, a SE viele, and a glass of fine wine.

I don't think the blade would be strong enough to stand heavy use, though the lock is probably a medium-heavy use.
 
I have a PE VG-10 version that I use mostly for something like church functions.
It works fine as an EDC but i can't imagine cutting wire with mine (shudder) it's not that it's weak in any way, I'm sure it's plenty strong for any use designed for a knife.
Just way too classy for mundane work.
The micarta is a work of art in itself, the sleek lines, the way it whispers when it's opened.:) Ron
