Vg-10 sharpenig?

Hello everybody.
First of all, I wanna say that I don't understand nothing about sharpening so a ordered Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker Sharpener Set w/ DVD to learn, but I saw the Ultra Fine Sharpmaker Rods in a store and in the discretion he says:
"[...]You really need these for VG-10 and ZDP-189 knives[...]"

Is it true?:confused: I have 2 knifes with VG-10 (Sog mini vulcan and Spyderco ladybug)

You don't kneed them to sharpen VG-10. You might want them someday to put on an extra scary edge.
 
if you want just to touch up a fine edge, and make it more polished, yes ,they are good :D
maybe the add wanted to say that those steels take a very fine edge, so its best to put it there, but that also would mean to lower the angle, and for vg 10, i dont know...
anyway, the ultra fine stones are great for finishing a very sharp edge, but i find that my normal fine stones are enough for my needs, when i use the sharpmaker.
