This may be a really stupid question, but I've been seeing photos of FRN Delicas & Enduras with what looks to be an AUS-8 tang stamp. By this I mean '98 handles & clips, Boye divot, the works.

Are these being/going to be switched from VG-10 to AUS-8 (or worse, AUS-6)?

Pre '98 it was Aus-8
98-2002 it was ATS-55
2002(as they get rid of ats-55)-? it's VG-10

who knows what the future holds....

Hey! AUS-6 is a good steel! It works well even if it dosen't hold an edge as long and is tougher than a alot of the newer "super steels". You don't have to worry about it chipping out if you hit something like a staple.;)

Thanks for replies. Actually wouldn't mind AUS-8 but glad to know VG-10's here to stay long enough to replace my ATS-55 models.

As to AUS-6, :barf: ! My AUS-6 CRKTs go dull while being carried, not even used! Their shock absorption isn't in dispute, just their actual usefulness.

Spyderco's AUS-6 is harder than CRKT's. I believe Spyderco hardens it to HRC 57-58, whereas CRKT's is listed at I think 55-57.
