I know that VG-10 is considered one of the better steels out there, but since the FRN Endura (and Delica??) is going to change to this steel (along with changing to a flat saber grind), I was wondering how much of a price difference this could create.
Because if the price will not change all that much, perhaps those more popular models using ATS-55 could shift to VG-10? IMO, ATS-55 has been very good in performance, but it seems there are wide variations in its ability to resist corrosion. I have yet to own a VG-10 blade, but I have heard besides its edge-taking/holding ability, that its ability to resist rust is superior to the ATS steels.
In fact, the variance in corrosion resistance is my only gripe about ATS-55. I haven't had one rust to pitting, but have noticed easy rusting on some, despite using preventives.
