Surprise, surprise, surprise!! (Gomer Pyle)
Guess who just called ME! Yeppers. Dave himself. We talked for about 1/2 hour. I asked him a gazillion nagging questions, as always. I asked him if he had a chance to go buy some food. Now everyone has their own interpretation of what food is.
Dave replies, "Yeah, I did. I got Powerade, and Gatorade, and candy, and cookies."
I said, "But Dave, did you buy any FOOD?"
Dave said, "Yeah, I just told you what food I bought."
Sigh.
On to computers......
Me: "Dave, is your computer working?"
Dave: "The keyboard doesn't work. It has dust in it so the keys don't work right."
Me: "Are you sure you didn't spill anything on your keyboard?"
Dave: "Yeah. It's dust. I bet you get a lot of dust at your place and your keyboard get stuck."
Me: "No, Dave, I have never had that happen. Sounds like you are going to have to order yourself a new keyboard."
Dave: "Yeah."
But Dave is going to try to get online and come onto the forums because at least his mouse works. He won't be able to type, but he can read. I also mentioned to Dave that he can go to the Library and use their computers.
Dave sounds great, in good spirits, and only lost one cat, who didn't return, and his favorite wood cane burned up in the fire.
His A/C units work great at night, but the BTU's are really not strong enough to cool down his place during the day. They are very tiny window units, and don't hardly work at all, as far as I am concerned. What he really needs is a nice evaporative cooler. That would do the job just fine. I doubt the humidity ever gets very high in Pahrump.
Dave saw his doctor today, who changed the dressings on his foot. Doc said that his foot is looking good. Dave has his own wheelchair and that is what he is using to get around when he has to go out. His doctor also gave him a script for some morphine, or so Dave says. That is what he was getting in the hospital, via his IV. He also got scripts for two other pain meds. Heavy duty stuff, if you ask me.
His dogs are excited to see him. Jake and Blue are wonderful dogs and they like hanging out with Dave. They are large dogs but are wonderful company and Dave loves them very much.
That's it for the Dave Report for this week. More at another time if Dave and I are able to make a connection.
