What American made steel is nearest to it, in sharpness, edge holding?

What they said, 154CM.
I've done side by side edge retention testing and cannot distinguish between those 154CM and VG10.
14-4 CrMo is an allow with the same composition as 154CM. It is made by Latrobe Steel and also has the same properties.
