cold steel voy. vs. endura. the cs is vg1 & the endura vg10. i marked off a line on heavy cardboard at 15 in.cut to line 30 times with cs then 30 times with endura. endura was sharper so i cut to 40 times with the endura in vg10. at this point the endura would barely shave. rebeveled the cs & then at 30 times would easily shave hair, so i took the cs to 40 cuts. both knives would scrape hair but the endura vg10 was slightly sharper.before we get into a spitting contest here are a few varibles
endura was flat ground
vg10 was rr at 59 i think
vg1 rr was unknown
both knives were touched on white spyderco ceramic & stropped on leather with diamond paste
my conclusions vg1 is not junk however i give the edge to endura vg10.
if both knives were flat ground & at same hardness i'm not sure they would'nt be real close.members this is not a truly empirical test but it does give us some information.
