Thanks to a previous post, I pretty much settled myself into getting a Victorinox Handyman. In an effort to save shipping costs, I decided to see if could find one at my local Target store, and though it wasnt' there, there was another item that got my interest. The Leatherman Juice XE6. It seems to have every item in it that can be found on the handyman including much better pliers and even a cork screw - except the file doens't seem to be a metal saw, and of course no toothpick or tweesers. Anyone out there have one of these things? how does the quality compare to the VIC? Do you think either would be better at outdoor tasks, or EDC?

I've got one of the XE6's. Whether it works for you or not depends on how "heavy duty" you want your multi tool to be.

It's a bit smaller and lighter than my friend's Wave. It also lacks the one hand opening and locking blades. I prefer the can and bottle openers that normally come with Vic SAKs compared to what the XE6 has.

On the other hand...because of its smaller size, it lends itself better for the "just in case" nature that most of us carry multi tools.

Hmm, thanks for the heads up about the bottle/can opener... I'm still not sure which to get though. I'm leaning toward the SAK, because everyone seems to love them, but at the same time, for about the same size I would get a much better pair of pliers, though I have heard a few people curse their juice models...

Maybe i'll just get a Ranger for the pocket- basically the Handyman without the pliers and cary a multitool on my belt...
