Vic Leather Belt Hanger

If anyone uses a Victorinox leather belt hanger: do you clip to the belt and attatch the knife to the ring? Or vice-versa?
I know it sounds like a stupid question but I just bought one on Ebay because I have "carry issues" with SAKS and I was hoping this would help but looking at the pictures I'm not so sure.

I think you'd use the snap hook for your belt loop for easy disconnect.

You would be better serviced by one of these Victorinox belt hangers. They work extremely well.

IMO the snap ring will be too small for many belt loops. The leather part is meant to go around the belt. The keyring on your SAK is clipped through the snap ring. I'm assuming the large ring can be removed from the leather strap. I would attach it to my SAK so my knife could be clipped on or off easier than with only the small keyring found on most SAKs.

Thanks all. After looking at Buzz's pic I think I can mod the leather strap and ring to work pretty much the same way.
