SAK have what they call a 'combo tool' which is a combined bottle/can opener. I looked at it on the Compact model in the store, and it doesn't look like it would be too effective at opening cans since it isn't sharp at all. Does anyone have expereice with it? I like the idea of one tool instead of two (like on LM - which is quite effective at opening both cans AND bottles). The can opener is much more useful to me since all the bottles up here in Canada are twist off now.

It's not as good as the regular Vic can opener, but it gets the job done.

I've EDC Victorinox SAKs with the combo tool for over 22 years and probably because I am used to the tool I find I can open cans (all puns intended :D ) with it as well as the regular Victorinox SAK can-opener........

Even though I am probably reasonably proficient with both -
NEITHER can hold a candle to a regular turn the handle kitchen can-opener -
so which is "better" is really moot.

We've (obviously) had discussions about this before - here's the thread -
