Vic Spartan: adding serrations and removing the tip

When I go hiking, I rely on my beloved OH Trekker (the german army version), but the rest of the time I usually carry a simple, classic Vic Spartan (I'm kind of a Macgyver fan :D ). Today I've had this idea: since I mostly use the small blade, I could turn the main blade into something like [I guess it's called] a "sheepfoot" blade, with round tip and serrations.

Do you think that's possible  or is the blade just going to break? :thumbdn:

You can buy a (now discontinued?) production Serrated Spartan - look on eBay, they're still listed there from time to time. There is one in this two-SAK listing now running: click here

The blade is a spearpoint, not a sheepsfoot, but you could file it yourself if you wish.

Nice! I didn't know there was a "serrated" version. If my idea will not work, I'll try to get one on ebay, thanks. :)

There is also a serrated Weekender available at sosakonline.com. It looks just like a Spartan but the main blade is serrated.

Thanks, it could be number three on my "shopping list" (first two being a Spirit Plus and Fallkniven A1). :)

Anyway, I still can't understand why SAK's are cheaper in the US: here in Italy (about 500 miles from the actual place where SAK's are made, I could get there by car) the price is usually 30 to 50% higher.
