TRRRRRRRRADED AWAY, THANKS FOR LOOKING!

Hi folks,
Here's my latest. Victorinox Spartan, decked out in some great walnut. I don't even know what's the word for this wood. Majestic or distinguished or something... I don't know. I love this particular piece of wood. I'm EXTEMELY pleased with how it turned out. See for yourself below!

The wood came to me in a "karma trade" with a forumite. I got good wood, he got good karma. There's some Good Eggs on these forums, I tell you what.

So I'm looking for $49.00 shipped. It's hard to find a gentleman's folder this elegant for less than a jillion bucks.

Ok, no luck there, make it $44 shipped!

EMAIL MSCANTRELL AT GMAIL.COM... or pm!:)

Or, I'd be willing to trade it. I'd go for handfuls of SAKs (for future projects), or midrange folders and fbs.

A forumite brought to my attention a very important detail I left out.

The project knife was not new. It was in pretty darn good condition, except for one major flaw: the main blade has a very small line of pitting on the back. It was there when I got the knife, so I don't know how it happened, but definitely there.

I'm going to try to take a picture of it, but my junk camera might not show it.

Either way, I'm not trying to pull the wool over anybody's eyes around here! Knife is in great functional condition, and great aesthetic condition, EXCEPT for that one major blemish.

Thanks, VM!

Mike

This is really nice. Do you think the blade could be cleaned up?
The next question is not to make you mad!!!!
Do you think this could be carried all day? (will the wood stay tight?)
Thanks
Vman

Vman,   !

No, just kidding :D ;) :)

As far as the blade, I've cleaned it up pretty well, but no, I don't think the marks are going away, short of sanding them out. Now, if you're handy enough to sand them out, you might have a pretty good thing going.

As far as carryability, that brings up ANOTHER thing I should have touched on before:

the scales are attached with 2-ton epoxy... they're on there pretty much permanently. And they're finished with a couple coats of tung oil. That makes for a nice watertight (that is sweatproof, if we're thinking inside the pocket) finish.

I absolutely intended for this knife to go in somebody's pocket!

The wood looks good , only thing is I think the knife is a Spartan not a tinker. The tinker has a phillips screwdriver instead of a cork screw. The spartan has the corkscrew instead.

Take care!
