Hi all,

I know some models ship with a pin in it, but I was wondering if there are some older models that maybe have the hole for a pin but no pin included (hence not listing it as a feature of the SAK)? And if so, which models? O.o I think it's a mighty nifty thing to have and there are so few models that have the pin listed as a tool, made me wonder if maybe there are others with the pin slot but no pin included.

Yeah, same here. I'm not aware of any older models that would have the hole but not the pin. That seems to be a new thing, alot of their current models are coming with the scales already having the pin hole but no pin.

Could you just buy the scales (or a cheap model) with the pin hole and just slap them onto the same length model and be good to go? Would be nifty to have a pin with your spartan! If so, does it have to be a corkscrew attached, or could the philips head also work? o.o

It doesn't matter if you have a phillips or corkscrew. If you are going to buy new scales, might as well get the Plus scales and you get a pin and ink pen slot.

I agree, I like the pin&hole, "plus scales"
the older scales are solid, shouldn't be to
hard to make a hole yourself ;)
I'll be trying eventually.
