Victor Axe Company?

Someone is going to have to explain that site to me. The front page presented me with a Barco half hatchet for $100. Add $15 for linseed oil. They are also selling a $40 Council boy's axe for $215.

I rehung a vintage Craftsman half hatchet on an 18" handle and I can't seem to sell it for $20. Am I missing something?

Sounds like they're just another best made co, and likely started by hipsters which is probably who their only customers are.
They're selling common production tools for an extremely high price because they've done very minor work to them that you can do yourself for practically free.

Yeah you could get a very collectible vintage axe in excellent condition for a lot less money. The sad reality though is they have to charge that much these days if they hope to make a profit....I think that limited edition Council saddle axe someone posted was pretty expensive also.

It is fairly expensive, but it's a limited edition and they actually made it.
If you think about Vaughan hammers costing around the same as the craftsman hammers which they produce for Sears,I don't actually think they do have to charge this much for their axes.
The sheaths add a bit of cost, but staining and oiling the handle doesn't make up for the 2x price tag.
I certainly would prefer to functionally restore a vintage axe.

It is amusing how often these outfits pop up. It's too bad they weren't aware of all the others who came and went before them.

I don't understand the $60 up pricing for a little stain at the end of the haft. Would someone actually pay the extra for it?

The warranty is a little vague also.
Victor Axe + Tool stands behind its products and ensures them to be free of defects in assembly and the materials used. Newly manufactured metal components on axes and tools are intended to last a lifetime under proper use and care.
