here look the images
Hello everyone,
I purchased a pair of antique scissors at a flea market marked D.R. Patent with a production number of "25."
What's unique about this piece is that, when the blades are closed, the finger loops fold down to form a complete dagger-like guard.
Additionally, a safety lock locks the entire unit so it can function as a stylus.
I haven't found an identical model in catalogs, auctions, or public patents, not even in German databases (DPMA, Espacenet).
Characteristics:
Estimated Age: Late 19th – Early 20th Century
Possible Origin: Solingen, Germany
Material: Carbon steel with original patina
Mechanism: Guards formed by folding rings, locking by safety catch
Mark: "D.R. Patent" and No. 25
I've attached photos of the mechanism open and closed so you can appreciate the transformation.
Has anyone seen this system before or know the original patent?
Any references or documents would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance.
