My latest acquisition. Made by Harrison Bros & Howson. Marked cutlers to Her Majesty (Queen Victoria) so made pre 1901. One of a small handful of cutlery cos that had a royal warrant. 3.5 inches closed with chunky elephant ivory scales. As you can see has a tooth pick and tweezers that slot into the handle ala SAK. The blades look like they have some writing on them... perhaps a salesman's or shop sample at one time. Still tight and snappy.

How cool is that! And still has the toothpick and tweezers(although those could have been replaced)...amazing.

Thanks for sharing that. I ALWAYS dig into your threads because I know there is going to be a treasure there.

Thanks for your kind feedback Kerry. Much appreciated. Yes... the tools are a good fit but I have no way of confirming if they are infact the original.

Wow. I love those. You can find specialty dealers in those at a lot of knife shows, and I love going to them. This kind of thing was a Sheffield specialty, and there are many French and German examples, and they are all way cool--and a perfect example of a lost era in craftsmanship.

May I say, s-k--that that is a shining example of the genre.

See for all the folks who apologize for SAKs not being traditional, that shows the type is quite traditional.

Beautiful knife, btw.

What a solid knife! The scales are gobsmacking:thumbup:
It's time you set up a virtual archive so we can all enjoy your knifeworks of art thanks.

Wow, I really love that knife!

s-k, that has to be one of the most interesting knives you've showed here, and you've showed some real interesting ones. I think its the elephant ivory handles that does it for me, it just reeks of a dark panneled drawing room with cigar or pipe smoke in the air, and Lord so and so recounting his last hunt.

Thank-you all for your kind responses. They are much appreciated. I'm happy to have this opportunity to share with you all here. best wishes.
