Victorinox - 60,000 a day!

About 20 years ago my local Home Hardware had a display of Victorinox knives with my favourite model, the "Camper", at an unbelievably low price, so I bought the hole display. I even told them that they must be marked with the incorrect price but they claimed it was correct (around $12 I think). I never have one too far away, and I probably lose about one a year at work, I've now only got one or two left!

Learned they make 60,000 products a day, the swiss invented velcro and LSD....woohoo. Pretty cool though. Thanks for the link.

Great article. So they make over a million knives a month. It's surprising that still so many of their knives are sold.

Economies of scale explain why such a high quality item is such a bargain cost-wise.

Would be interesting to see what their prices have been like from the beginning. They are pretty cheap now, though were they a lot more when only sold in Sweden?....which I assume was the case years and years ago.

I wonder how many the average consumer owns. I find them addictive. No sooner do I get one I want, then I am on to another.

The red SAKs are the most quality consistent product line I have ever seen. Own well over 50, never gotten one bad copy, simply impressive.
