Hey everyone, not new to the forum just forgot my login and deleted my old email
Address. Oops! I'm typing on an iPod touch so if there's spelling errors sorry. Anyways, I got a vic centurion for Christmas. Ive been carrying a super tinker for quite a while now and I was wondering what you guys thought of the centurion. My oil bro picked it out because I returned a buck xtract I got for Xmas as I already had the same one. What's your take on the knife? It's the simplest vic ive ever owned besides a classic.

You're going to get typical high quality from Victorinox, so expect it to last long. I believe the Centurion uses a liner lock - I prefer the sliding plastic tab found in the Adventurer model. Why? I guess cause my perception is the liner lock can slide out of place if gripped "wrong" or from diminished liner elasticity (what's the best word? elasticity? spring memory? ugh). You might find these models too big for pocket carry, but it's a good model.

I like the size in my pocket, nearly had a heart attack when i saw the blade size. It'll take some getting used to to not have scissors but i think i can cope. It's not a huge loss. I never really used the hook or large blade on the super tinker so the large blade will take some getting used to. But all in all im liking it.

Anyone else own one or have comments? I'm mainly comparing it to a super tinker, classic or one like the mini champ minus the phillips screw driver. Hows it hold up to abuse?

I like the 111mm size. The blade is long enough to cut vegetables and sandwiches. The only thing is that it's illegal to carry concealed in Atlanta. (Over 3") You might want to check but I think CT may also have a 3" limit.

The Centurion is on the Victorinox military chassis along with most of their black handled 111mm knives. It's plenty strong...probably the strongest non multitool chassis Vic makes since the liner between the 2 layers is steel. The Centurion has that cool locking screwdriver and the main blade is a little thicker than the red handled 111mm models. I had one for a while and enjoyed it.
