Hey guys, I have a question for those of you who own or have knowledge about the Victorinox Cybertool knives.

What kind of steel/material are those driver bits made of? Are they as tough as the normal Victorinox screwdriver heads?

Oh and can replacements be separately purchased?

Thank you!

I don't know exactly what they are made of, but I've had my Cybertool for over 11 years and mine are still in good condition. I've built & repaired many computers using my Cybertool and I'm VERY happy with the quality of the driver bits.
After 11 years my Cybertool is still in great condition with nothing lost or broken - talk about fantastic value!

I believe that the replacement bits are readily available too.
A search on Amazon finds the bits individually at $5.39 each.

Thanks for the info.

I was wondering because when I checked out the knife in a local retailer, the bits seemed a little too light. It made me wonder whether they were strong enough to withstand work for stuff that are tougher than computers. I was wondering for example, can they do the same work that the inline phillips does? The phillips on the SwissChamp or Explorer I mean, because that one is pretty strong and I was wondering if the bit driver can replicate the work of such a dedicated phillips driver.

If it could... then that would be awesome, because then it would be an ideal SAK for me.

Also, is the plastic bit rack durable? Will it stand washing with hot water?

Thank you.

I have a Cybertool for awhile now and while I do not know what the steel is for the bits they seem to be about as hardy as other commonly available bits I have seen. I saw someone's well used Cybertool and the small Phillips head bit was worn out. The bits are cheaper if you find a dealer online. I have seen an entire set for around $15 for the regular 4 bits or just under $4 each.

I think the spare bit holder is pretty durable but I would not submerge my knife or run it through a dishwasher since the scales will warp if you do so. Could not say if the spare bit holder will warp or not. Try using an Ultrasonic cleaner for submerge type cleaning.

I have a 34 and have used it for everything. I believe its a pretty tough tool.
