Has anyone used the small sheepsfoot blade for general cutting? How does it do? Can you get a good edge on it?


Also, where would one look for unusual SAKs beside the auction site? I'm looking for:

--electrician solo

--pioneer apprentice.

The Electrician small sheepsfoot blade is excellent for general cutting and sharpens to as fine of an edge as any Victorinox blade.

I've looked for the Electrician Solo and Pioneer Apprentice and think the big auction site is pretty much your only option. They appear to be out of production.

While I just got mine not to long ago, it's very sharp and I do use it for general cutting. Nothing absurd though. I have not touched up the edge yet. And what Mud Shrimp Moe stated above, I have to concur.

Can't go wrong with that sheepsfoot blade from SAK Victorinox.

That little cutout on the blade for wires I'm assuming just drives me crazy. Besides that it is "grail SAK" worthy

Does the Electrician have a little piece for a keyring? It looks like there is one in between the bottle opener and awl but I'm not sure if it really is one.

I love using the little sheepsfoot blade, sharp, and works for just about anything. It holds up great. Most Electricians do not have the keyring. Looks like Jan got a special one or had it added.

Mine's an old cross alox silver electrician like the last four in the first pic that Jan posted. It's a user and I love it.

I have an Electrician Plus and the small blade works very well for general cutting. When I carry this SAK, I use that sheepsfoot blade most of the time.

I love that little sheepfoot blade! This type of blade gets a lot of use when I'm carrying a stockman or one of my Electricians. I wish Victorinox replaced the small pen blade with a lovely sheepfoot on all SAKs.

Besides the aforementioned auction site, there's a bloke who runs a charity for cats that offers good prices and lots of models. I got my Electrician Plus and Pioneer Apprentice from him. I got my regular Electrician as a gift.
