Hey there , proud new owner of a victorinox GAK ( my first SAK ) .
Just thought id through up a couple of pics as i really like this knife .
I was in the market for my first SAK and came across the GAK .
It has all the features i wanted ! Its light and grippy and i love the distal taper !
I think its from the 80s ? Mine cost me 15 euro seems to be in tip top shape just missing
The saw gaurd .
I found some in worse condition for sale in UK for £10 to £15 kinda the price range i guess .
Anyways hope you like the pics / find helpful .
Cheers .

nice find. That's the old German army knife. The new one is still a Victorinox but with one-hand-opening blade.

I love the now-discontinued large 108mm SAKs like your GAK - longer, thicker, more robust tools with just the right essentials, textured lightweight nylon scales, and most of all a lanyard hole THROUGH the handle, not some dinky ring that gets in the way. There's also the Vic Safari series with red textured scales, one with an additional gutting blade for hunters. Enjoy!

By the way, there are saw guards available out there, but few and far between. I've been told you can make a fairly decent one out of an aluminum beer can.
