I am trying to find the Golfer SAK that had the pliers. Currently, the only one that I can find are the ones with the scissors. Does anyone know where I might be able to find this model? Thanks in advance fro any help.

Sorry, I can't help you with your search.

However, I would like to know where I can find a Golfer w/ the scissors.

Thanks.

First I'm not aware of the Golfer having Pliers (*except see below)

There have been a number of different models that have been called the "Golfer" and the only reliable way of distinguishing them is to use the model #s.

There doesn't appear to be a current model called the "Golfer" listed by SwissArmy.com.

The first Golfer model probably is the most sort after - 84mm model (no keyring) with the older style combination tool (different shape and no squared tang)
circa ~early 80's Victorinox brochure -

Somtime around ~1987-88 the Golfer was a 91mm model

and by 1992-93 that model was re-named the Compact knife and is a current US model
(note the Swiss/international model # 1.3405 remained the same)

Most probably because another model with a divot tool was named the Golfer -
Swiss Army Brands (US) catalog 1993 (US model # 53811)
[Edit: note - the US model # appers to be 73570 - doing a search on Froogle finds some on-line vendors who still list this Victorinox Golfer with the model # 73570]

OK, possible *"exception" about Golfer with Pliers - this is kind of obscure -

if my recall is correct this model when being sold on clearance by SMWK (years ago) was called in their catalog "Golfer" -
but this was probably just a misnomer.

This model was available in Black as a special at Radio Shack -
I had not seen a red one or it being called a "Golfer" before that clearance at SMWK,
or since........

Vincent, I know that I am very new here, but after all of the posts I have read of yours, I want to officially announce that you are the God of SAK's. The last one that is pictured is the one that I am talking about. I will do some more digging adn see what I can find out about that particular one. Thanks again.

I can't exactly remember which thread it was on, but I believe I came across that knife being called a golfer somewhere on this site.

er-hum (embarrassed) coughing.... :o

That was probably me and in this post -

Minimalist SAKs

I guess I should have been clearer that the name "Golfer" was probably a misnomer and probably never an official name............ :o

(I should edit that post to make it clearer)
