I'm pretty green around here so I wonder if there is forum or thread for IDing SAK. I have one that says it is a Officier model on the back side of the main blade. I have a different one that doesn't have a model on it. Kind of a soft checkered grip 3in blade model from around 1980. Can't post a picture now but I will later when I'm home. Thanks.

Yes, a Safari Hunter. Great knife. Definitely a keeper.

As far as I know Vic only made three three-layer 108mm knives. The Mauser, the Fireman, and the Hunter. The Fireman and Hunter are the same with the exception that on the Fireman the gutting blade is serrated, and the Fireman's logo on the scale is different. All the 108mm Vics are great knives.

I looked on the SAKWIKI site (which is great!) and found this kind of knife. The Hunter is shown with Staghorn grips but it is the same knife. Wish this one had the saw cover like the GAK but it doesn't look like the blade would close because there is very little clearance.
