I have just ordered a Victorinox One Hand Trekker Camo knife (from Amazon). The product description says it comes with a serrated blade, but the sole customer review on the site says the blade is not serrated. I don't much care either way. I liked the tool selection of the Trekker (I'm not much in favor of scissors or corkscrews on pocket knives) and the locking blade, and I really like the different-looking camo finish on the scales.

I checked around a bit and the camo finish seems to be a new feature. I couldn't find any discussion on BF of this particular knife (with the camo finish). So I feel I will be having a common knife that is uncommon!

I am looking forward to its arrival.

Congrats on you catch. I got a GAK, which is basically a OH Trekker and I really fell for it. I ordered a OH Trekker as well, figuring I would not use the GAK much. But I have used both about evenly. I really like the black scales with the Vic symbel on it. But I also like the green and German eagle scales of the GAK, and knowing it is actual service issued. Now I am eyeing up more 111mm size Vics. I think that GAK started something good. :D

Congrats! I regret not getting one from felinevet, he had a great deal
on the camo ones for a long time (not anymore)

I'm not a big camo fan (too easy to lose) so I kept putting it off, but still dooh
when you get it, posts pics if you can ;)

I think the camo is supposed to be plain edge but who knows? So many knives ... :p

The One-hand Trekker models are all good working knives. I have always had a few SAKs around, a Vic. Classic on my keyring, for example. I attached a microlight to my OHT and it rides well in a back pocket.

54877 has camouflage handles and a partially serrated blade and 54878 has camouflage handles and a plain edge blade. The $32.53 one on Amazon is labeled as 54877. I suspect that the review is mistaken or misplaced--it doesn't seem like he's reviewing this particular knife. Amazon lists the one with the plain edge blade for $10 more.

I did a little extra research after my OP and I found out about the model numbers as posted by supratentorial (and the extra $10 for a plain edge). I'll be happy with the serrated edge not only to save the $10 but also because all my other pocket knives have plain edges and the SAK falls into a different category. I have a Spyderco SharpMaker so touching up the serrated edge shouldn't be a problem.

This will be my first real SAK.

As you can see, the 54877 model has a partially serrated blade, which is fairly sharp out of the box.

Uh-oh - after buying six knives over the last 4 months I thought I was going to be able to take a breather.

I like the camo - looks like I'm in the hunt again...:)

Nice photos, Swedge! Toyz were any of those six purchases multi-tools? If not, then they didn't count and you have six more to go! ;)

No they weren't - I've got SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many multi tools and SAKs in almost every color and flavor that I needed to get caught up with my folder collection!!

Yes. It is cool. I normally do not like camo. But there is something about that one.

Perhaps the fact that it's an "army knife" (but nobody will confuse it with trying to be "tactical") makes the camo acceptable.

For me, it was the fact that it's a distinct deviation from the traditional SAK.

You can never have too many tools! How about photos of some examples from your collection?

Nice pics! thx ;)
of course camo is sweet looking! with the patterns and the colors my problem is if I drop it
or put it down somewhere that blends, it's gone!

OK - just a few - sorry the pics are crappy - I will never be accused of being a photographer.

I've got them all over the place - in the cars, in tool boxes, in my camper, in the kitchen junk drawer - these were a few I had in my office at home.

I've never been accused of being a photographer either. It's the multi-tools that are important, not the quality of the photos (at least that's what I tell myself :D ). That's a nice collection of tools... but you've got room for a Swiss army knife with camouflage handles. ;) I like the group photo--it makes a nice comparison. You should post photos more often!
