Victorinox One Hand Trekker improved

Started with my One Hand Trekker non serrated, and ground it to be a little "pointier". Then swapped the black scales for red and added one of the pocket clips from Swissbianco (stripped of black finish). I thought this would be less threatening in polite company than my previous EDC (Benchmade Griptilian). If Victorinox would offer them this way (and maybe with scissors and a nail file instead of the saw), I bet they would sell a bunch.

 
Nice mod. I'd buy one like you mention in a heartbeat. Have the regular Trekker in black, but would prefer it without the saw. I really wish Vic would make that design in a smaller size though.

I'd sure be all over that. I like my SAKs to be red. I think it's the most universally recognized and least threatening. The pocket clip is a huge plus too. Well done my friend!
 
How does the clip attach? Did the holes need to be tapped?

Holes through the plastic scale only and included is a small steel backing plate that goes behind the scale which is threaded. I had one of the first examples for sale and it didn't fit that great. I like a lot of what Roger does for SAK enthusiasts but this wasn't one of the best executed ideas. Good in theory though, hopefully he's tweaked it a bit because it's a real welcome mod to the 111mm.

To the OP that's a great looking setup. I prefer the red also.
 
If they sold it with the clip like that I would buy it. I have more use for a saw than scissors

Thank you, and I agree a clip on the 111mm models is the way to go.

The clip that I received fit well in my opinion. The coating was very hard to remove and I didn't do the neatest job. I would prefer if it came with a highly polished stainless steel finish.

Just buy the Vic. nylon outside belt sheath for the knife! Complications solved. Works great for me on EDC if wanted.
