ordered a pioneer rancher today because i think it will make a really good office companion for my little victorinox manager on my keys.

i read that the pioneer electrician has a half stop on the bottle opener, does the pioneer rancher also have a half stop? anyone got any tips for a new owner or pictures of their pioneer ranchers?
 
Yes, all the alox Soldier variants (Pioneers, Farmers, Electricians, etc.) have a half stop on the bottle opener. There's not much to say about the Pioneer Ranchers, other than that they're great pocket knives and they will probably make you want some more of the alox models. :-)

Think gateway drug to the world of Alox ! I often rock an electrician plus , somewhat similar but with saw and cable blade , sadly no lanyard ring .

yes, i think the cadet was my gateway drug. i will miss the lanyard ring though. i'm excited to see what the hawkbill can do to a blister pack and hope it will still perform well on an envelope flap. i carry a razor blade in a gerber EAB, that i hope to replace with the rancher because i have a hard time opening envelopes with it.
