Hi,

I looking to replace a Victorinox Pruner knife with something with a stouter, serated edge. One of my options is the spyderco crossbill which uses a 8Cr13MoV hawkbill style blade.

Does anyone know what type of steel is used in the Victorinox Pruner knife or how it compares to 8Cr13MoV?

Thanks.

Victorinox uses Inox which is at 56hrc, here's a link of the metalic components, but 8cr13mov is not in that chart, but it's very similar to aus8.

As far as I know, Inox is just the Swiss term for stainless, it' s not the name of the steel.
The steel is a modified version of 12C27, I think.56RC should be correct.
