I'm looking for some Victorinox models with these types of scales and in this extended length (A little over 4 inches). I have this, the Nylon Solo, was wondering if there were similar models. The only other one I've found is Solo Plus with corkscrew, aside from the Alox Solo.

The "Mauser" line are the ones you're looking for. Felinevet shop sometimes has them in the "Hard to find/discontinued" section. Also, the older German Army knife was a Mauser, had a blade, a mutlifunction blade (combo tool, wood saw, sometimes a nail file), corkscrew, and awl. A surplus store near me had a box full of these, very well used. If you find one, beware that there were several suppliers for this knife, so you may not get a Victorinox. On the upside, out of several brands, they all seemed about the same high quality. Despite being well used, they all seemed to have plenty of life in them after a cleaning. Very useful knives indeed.

The Solo is over 4" long? Huh, I always thought it was smaller. I might hafta check one out!

To clarify what Shecky said, the Mauser was the civilian model, and getting pretty hard to find these days, at least in any sort of decent condition. However, the German Army Knife, AKA the "GAK", is pretty common.

Tim at FelineVet carries the GAK too, usually, or you can find 'em on eBay; either way, they're a lot cheaper than the civvie Mauser model, and just as functional. I have one, and it's pretty solid, but the wood saw with the bottle opener on the end is a bit, er, weird. :D

The Victorinox store, which is near my area sells those. They retail for around $15, or just under.
