Hi all;

Just received a new Victorinox Rambler. The nail file/sd tip tool opens up without a problem, but doesn't "snap back" like the other other three implements do (with the same force might be another way to put it). It certainly goes back into place, and I don't have to push it into the handle any further, again, just not without that satisfying "click." For those that have and use Ramblers, is this normal?

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and thanks in advance for any replies.

I have a MiniChamp with a similar sort of thing happening to the nail file and a couple other of the really light implements. I think that on the 58mm, some of the tools are just so small that they don't always have enough momentum, even with spring tension, to "snap" into place like the larger/heavier tools. As long as it isn't rubbing or binding mid-close, I wouldn't worry about it.

Hi.
I recently bought a new Rambler, and on mine, the implement that has the least 'snap' on closing is the bottle opener/phillips screwdriver blade. Followed by the pen blade. The nail file/sd blade and the scissors have the most snap on mine. I have an older mini-champ in which every single blade snaps back very strongly. I guess it has to do with each individual sample. I still really like my Rambler, though. So long as the blades do snap back a bit at the end of closing, I think it's okay.

Could a clean and lube help?

Try giving it a good scrub with an old toothbrush and dawn dish detergent and lots of very warm water. After a good dry, lube with some mineral oil on a needle and work it for a few days. It may get better with ceasing and use.
