Victorinox Rescue tool

Hi,

I'm considering getting one of these for everyday carry. I realize that it's heralded as the 2007 design of the year, but has anyone here own one and actually used it in a rescue situation? I know it won't replace the tools in the rescue rig. But I want something I can carry in my pocket and be generally useful all around.

I keep it in my truck! This is not an EDC Knife unless you are an EMT or Fireman, I keep it for self extraction or vehicle rescue, I hope I never have to use it! It is a cool knife and has it's place but again it is not a utility knife.

Thanks! Yeah, I do both fire and EMS for two volunteer services. The small rural town I live in and the one I work in. So I would expect to use it for real.

So it's pretty big to carry EDC. That's too bad.

It's not that big - it's a 111 mm model with four layers. Some
people carry much larger SAK's.

Vic Rescue is not to big to carry, If you have an everyday use for it like EMS/Fireman, I would carry it everyday. I just keep mine in my 4X4 incase I need it, but as stated before, I hope I never have to use it.
