Are the Alox scales on Victorinox knives hollow or sold slabs of aluminum?

Thanks in advance for the help.:)

Solid.

A few Christmas's ago I made a bunch of easy openers out of the Victorinox alox solo's for the women in the clan as purse knives. I did not know for sure till I hit it with the dremel tool what I was going to find. I was greatly relieved to find solid aluminum.

WOW that was quick!

I didn't want to take a dremel to one only to find that the scales are hollow. I knew a few fellow knife nuts would know!

Thanks again guys.

Not only are they solid aluminum alloy, but they're sturdier than the standard models, too.

One Victorinox Pioneer with RED ALOX scales is on order.

Pretty soon I'll need a 2nd job if I keep hanging around here with you fine folks! :D:D:D

I have the Pioneer Rancher! It is a solid knife. One of my favorites was a single bladed RED ALOX. It was in my car when it got stolen.
