Victorinox Scale Logo?

Couldn't find this anywhere, but I was wondering what the logo on Swiss Army Knives--specifically Vic--is made of?

A friend's old Tinker lost the logo, it was a piece of metal pressed into the scale apparently. I thought that was really cool, always figured it was just some sort of paint job.

Anyone know what the current logos are made of? Specifically if they are an implanted piece of metal (or whatever), or painted on?

Anyway, I've been hooked on the things for the past while--loving the Huntsman. Knife collection started with a Vic Gardener and $10 Buck Mini Iceman...And so the downward spiral began...

Thanks!

Woops... Well, after even more research, it seems they are some sort of metal. Not entirely sure though. Heard something about the logo being placed in the scale while the plastic is hot and when it cools it acts as a sort of pressure fit.

Still not entirely sure, so anyone with more info to share, it would be appreciated!

Not sure if they always used this, or switched to paint/plastic in the past... Anyway, thanks again!

The Victorinox logo have been/are metal, but the old Wenger logo was just painted on.

Most likely just aluminum .Carve one out of aluminum and glue it on !

Carving one out may be a bit difficult. Maybe just get an old beater off ebay of scavenge the logo from it an the glue it on. Of course the original Vic logo was inlaid, not just glued on.
