I was just curious, as to if any of you guys, had owned, or paid much attention to this old school penknife. Seems like an excellent knife for a non-knife person, or a minimalist.

I picked up a secretary to carry in place of a pocket pal that I inherited as part of my grand father's knife collection. It's is typical of Vic's quality in every way. I love the solid alox construction and how impossibly thin it is. It's a great suit knife, or minimalist traditional. I love how the silver alox is a throwback to penknives of days gone by. I often throw it in a pocket as a backup, as it literally disappears in any pocket. I find that I use the main blade and keep the small one scalpel sharp "just in case."

Not the best photo by any means, but thought this thread needed a picture:

I've got a pocket pal, but I don't know if it counts as "traditional", very handy knife. It's a knife you'd very easily forget carrying. I've made a point to acquire a Pocket Pal, and then a secretary, and hopefully a Sentry. I can't imagine them producing these models for ever but who knows ?

I used to think guys who collected SAKs were sorta odd, but I'm not much of a collector anyhow, and am trying to acquire obscure Victorinox models. I've started collecting SAKs, and Victorinox I jut need to face the facts. It's good, cheap fun nonetheless.

I carry one everyday as a second knife. Never notice it's in your pocket until you need it. There must be a ton of them out there that were advertising/company pieces like this one.

They have in the not so distant past. (I don't know if they will continue to make batches of black in the future; it seems like all the new ones are just red. I have also seen the occasional blue or green one around, as well.) The large auction site has had at least three of them up over the past couple months, it looks like.
