Hello everyone.

I found Victorinox Soldier Knife 85 for sale.
I need someone's opinion on the knife's condition.
Is it good going for it?

I don't think we are permitted to give valuations in the forum.
in any case, I like the older alox soldiers from this era, mostly for the brushed finish on the opener layer, and also the small 'quality control' stamp. The older the soldier, generally the more special it is, a '60's soldier in good condition is pretty sought after. If you like it, then go for it. These are a discontinued line, that will only become more sought after, though it will be a long time before they become truly rare.

As mentioned, not a particularly rare knife, but a good solid example for your collection, or as a user. The acceptance mark is certainly in your favor, and it appears to be in decent shape. Worth looking at for sure. If kept in good shape, it would make good trading stock, or at least you should easily be able to get your money back, if not maybe a bit more. But I would not buy it expecting to quickly turn a big profit.

Posted as a reminder. From the forum guidelines:

WHAT IS MY KNIFE / GADGET / SPATULA / TUNING FORK WORTH ?!?!?!?!

In order to curtail potential abuse of membership privileges associated with the forums, questions regarding valuation of knives and collections are limited to those with a membership level which permits selling on this site. Accordingly, registered and basic members may not start or post in threads with such requests whether with the intent to sell or for informational purposes only. This rule applies throughout the site.

In other words, without a paid Gold membership, you don't get to ask about sale values. Too many people abused this question to hint they had a knife for sale, which you need that membership for.

I can't add anything else but.....buy it! Soldiers are great, but be warned...they tend to multiply!

Here's my squad! :D

OMG! Maybe better not to buy it. :-)

I do not have any alox SAK. Yet!
I use Huntsman every day, and have Craftsman for roadtrips, and Forester for outdoor.
Planned to buy Farmer, but this one is really tempting.

Soldiers are harder to find...they make new Farmers everyday...get the Soldier!

I only clicked on this thread because I was born in 85 too... and now the hunt begins!

Just arrived!
I am delighted!

You already saw pictures, but here are few more.

That looks great!

Nice to see those old Victorinox Soldiers. I've got one from 1985 too, made for the Dutch army.
