Hi I may not know what i'm doing but the blade on my victorinox soldier seems to have some play in it back and forth if u move it with your hands. If my knife were to break, where would I get a replacement parts and how would i replace the blade? Maybe i just worry too much but there is a little bit of blade play. I don't know if that's normal but you would have to put a decent amount of force to move it back and forth.

Also, is there a lifetime warranty on victorinox products? Oh and by the way, the victorinox soldier i have is the newer version.

Thank you for your time.

if the knife is the new model, like you say, with the liner lock, some vertical play can be detected if enough force is applied, but it also has a good strong back spring as a regular slipjoint, so that liner locking mechanism is there just for some added protection.
I have this small play in a trekker, and i suspect many if not all those models have it.
don't worry about it, its quite normal.

I have a 32 year old Huntsman that I broke the little spring that goes in the scissors. Where do you get replacement parts? Thanks!

thank you. reading this helped me.

If you're sending a knife in to be repaired, it's a good idea to ask that they NOT sharpen it. I've read numerous instances of knives sent in to their U.S. service department coming back with a blade that looks like it was "sharpened" by Jed Clampett on his grinder. It happened to my Classic.

EugeneJoseph, I wouldn't worry about a little blade wobble. It's normal on a slipjoint for it to eventually develop a wobble as parts wear out. It actually has some benefits to it as well, making it easier to clean. It does not affect it's performance at all, and is a sign of a loved and well used knife. We tend to make a big deal about things like this, but it's silly really. If you look at the knives of our grandfathers, they all had blade wobble, and were still used. Like I said, it doesn't affect anything.
If it is one of the newer Soldiers, with the locking blade, I think they all do that. My old one handed trekker had a wobble as well. But again, it affects nothing. Love it, use it, and enjoy.
