I like victorinox and I really like it. It could be my next self gift! :)
my only concern is the serrated edge. I would prefer a plain edge.
what you think about it?

blade is realy sharp and serrated is soft and not aggressive. for cut is very good and if the blade have this serrated you haven't most problem or lose time for sharpen

If you want a plain edge they do make a plain edge version of the one handed trekker, which is the soldier but with black scales, toothpick and tweezers. My gripe with the soldier is that the blade doesn't have a point on it.

good poit but i planned to customize the poit (to a drop-point-like) to have a good penetration. anyway I don't need a thin point.
...and I woud like the dual-density handle. the trekker was my first choice before I saw the soldier ;)

I love victorinox steel. it's always razor sharp!
dou you know which steel they use?

According to Victorinox it is designated X55CrMo14 or 1.4110. Consists of 15% chromium, 0.60% silicon, 0.52% carbon, 0.50% molybdenum, and 0.45% manganese. This is then hardened by heating at 1040 °C and annealing at 160 °C and results in an average blade hardness of 56 HRC.

Victorinox has been using it for decades and are rather good and consistent on their alloy and heat treatments. I like it as it is ridiculously resistant to rust and really easy to sharpen in the field.

Those front serrations work really well in my use of the Soldier and One Handed Trekker knives. I do miss a point on the blade, but times I needed one I just pulled out the awl and used that to make a hole. The only thing I wish it had different was the phillips head screwdriver coming out the middle there is a little short and hard to use on a number of projects I needed a Phillips head screwdriver. I much prefer when they come out in line with the other main tools. You also have to be a little careful you don't cut yourself using the awl to drill a hole.

Other than that it is a superb knife from a KISS perspective where they wanted it to require as little maintenance work as possible, so it always a goody to throw in a pack and take it with you.
