Do you carry a spartan or tinker?
How long have you carried it for?
Show it to us and gives us a story and/or review!

I prefer the Tinker due to the work I do. The corkscrew has very little use for me, and the slip on micro screwdriver is even less useful than the corkscrew.

I have a tinker.
A little over 20yrs.
Received it as a b day gift. Used it as edc, specially to maintain my kendo bogu & shinai (the bamboo sword) weekly basis. It's a perfect size knife, very useful tools included. Small blade is awesome, much more useful than I initially thought. I used the flat head as/for a light pry bar, leather/string/himo maintenance, and of course to tighten up screws. Still looks great after all these yrs of hard work.
Same as Charlie, I have very little use of cork screw, tinker is better choice for me. (come to think about it, I something Ii ever used the rimmer btw).
I eventually used it as a back up knife since benchmade & lonewolf knives came up for bigger tasks for past few years. I recently replaced it with recruit for the smaller footprint. I had knives before this, & many more after this tinker, but it'll always be my first.

I carried the "small" original Tinker for over 25 years til the blades and some tools lost their snap. I think the springs broke or worn and now they have so much play I dont think it is safe to use. I do still have it though! :D

Now I carry an Explorer Plus and love it. I use a P-7 clip and tuck it in my right front pocket. Works great! :D

EDIT: If I were to carry one of those choices, I would probably choose the Spartan as now I wear glasses and would carry the small mini screwdriver in the cork screw! My glasses always need to be tightened. :)

even though i now mostly edc a swisschamp or black oxide swisstool i sometimes still like to go back to the 84mm tinker. i am always pleasantly surprised by how much i can do with such a small tool.

In more than 20 years of carrying one SAK or another, I have only had to use a corkscrew twice (not counting playtime), and one of those times it was with my wife's Climber. On the other hand, I don't even think I could count the number of times the PH driver on my Swisschamp or Tinker has come in handy/saved the day, and not always for its designed purpose. Folded into its back spring closed position, it makes for a more comfortable grip than the corkscrew. These are the experiences that influence my opinion.

Have two tinkers for work & real work pants. Use the Phillips * small blade almost every day. Used far more than 710 in pocket.

I got a tinker in 1995. Carried it everywhere. The Philips is very useful. Lost it a few years ago so I bought another. Then a year later my son found the original in the bottom of a chair.... So now I have two.

The Spartan's corkscrew can hold that little eyeglass screwdriver so it's not completely useless.

My Swisschamp bought 20 years ago came without the small screwdriver, so eventually I got one and installed it in the corkscrew. That was about 10 or so years ago and I haven't used either one since. Maybe I will some day, so on that basis it's not completely useless. "Be prepared," as the Boy Scouts advise.
