Victorinox Swiss Army Leather Pouch

Very nice .
I have tried making a couple of lined sheaths , and I'm not going to post up the results , I'm not proud of them .
I find it very hard to achieve crisp clean lines and edges with a lined sheath . I take my hat off to those who can .

On the Maroon pouch, I didn't like very much how the stitches and thread came out. I used white nylon thread and decided to wax the thread (which didn't wok very well). I have to practice more on this hobby of mine.:D

Ken, you did a very nice job here...

Good job, Francisco. Have you lined the body of the sheath, before or after moulding it?
Regards.

Hi drail,
No, its pig skin 1.5 oz, (I thinhk glazed?) from Tandy Leather.

Pancho,
I did wet molded first and then lined it. I did watch Ian Atkinson's YouTube "Making a pigskin lined leather pouch". This guy has very good explanatory videos.

Saludos,

Hi guys!

I wanted to share with you these two SAK pouches I have finished for my kids. The red is my son and the green my daughter. They choose the colour and the clipart.

Thanks for looking...

Cheers,
Francisco

Great work
I like how the green one has no visible fastener on the outside of the flap .
Both are very nice , I have to get my act together and make another pouche with a flap . I've got a knife coming in the mail that would be a great candidate .
Have you got any other sheaths you have made that you could show us ?

Yes, This sheath is for a Fällkniven Idun knife that belongs to Anthony "TANK" Meeks ...

Thanks for looking and your comments.

Cheers,

Ken, if you make a sheath the same style as Francisco made (not a pouch style), you can line it with 1/2 oz veg tan and still get the roll at the mouth and since there is no soft leather involved like deer skin or pig skin your edges will finish normally just as nice as always. I split my belly leather down for just that purpose. Great lining material and no belly waste!

That idea and technique is the answer to my prayers . Why didn't I think of it earlier .
That "Little" piece of advice has given me "Big" ideas .
Thanks

Oh wow, I love those. Especially the green one.

If you don't mind, what did you line with, and did you follow directions, or learn on your own to do that job?

I have a few SAKS in their packaging to give to my girls when they get old enough to carry them. Maybe I'll make some sheaths for them as well. Excellent work!

Edit- sorry, my app screwed up all the replies. I can see, now, that you answered the above questions. :)
