Anyone else have a SwissChamp whose large blade tip area is hitting or almost close to hitting the base of the metal file when it's closed?

I was just wondering if this is a common issue with SwissChamps. Mine is pretty close to hitting and it even has some scratches indicating that on some occasions, either when closing or opening, the large blade's tip area has grazed the base of the metal file.

Anyone else have this issue? I saw one other incident of this with the SwissChamp and it bothers me a little.

Are there cases where the metal of the large blade warps due to use so that it bends slightly to one side? Or did this probably come like this out of the factory?

Thanks.

Ive had the same issue on a few different models. What I do is to bend the blade ever so slightly to have it clear. Clamp the blade in a vice (with wood or plastic to not mar the blade) and strike with a mallot on the blade, gently. It doesn't take much force to bend the blade, far less then I first thought. Ive bent many blades this way like the pruner, electician and other tools a few degrees to get them to fit for mods better. Ive had some come from the factory that way and other develop the issue over time.

Won't striking the blade, even gently, to change its alignment damage the blade? Or at the least, compromise its integrity?

Thanks!

I use a heavy rubber mallet. Hasn't caused any issue. As long as you arent trying to krink a blade more than a couple of degrees its fine. I suppose you can return to Vic under warranty, but I usually just tweak it myself.
