So, I have a swisschamp that I love, but I hate the way I have to carry it. I have the nylon pouch that I bought when I got it, and I've always carried it in there. I want an easier way to access it, preferably in the front of me and not behind me. I don't want to throw it in my pocket though, it's pretty big and I don't want to have to pick pocket fuzz out of it every night. I wish I could figure out a way to carry that and my swisstool without the pouches, but they'll both pants me! Any ideas?

Only thing I can think of would be using a belt hanger. But it will still need to take up a pants pocket. On the plus side it can be suspended above the bottom of said pocket, thus minimizing the sag that you would normally find if you simply stuck it in that same pocket. And also in fall and winter you could also stick them in a jacket pocket. I have the Victorinox steel belt hanger and like it very much. It can be found with several chain/snaphook fasteners that can be mixed and matched. They arent very expensive, maybe 10 to 15 dollars, and they have the Victorinox logo on it. Or you can just make one using a shoestring, piece of paracord etc. Good luck.

I often see people with those cell phone pouches on the belt and they often carry it in the front. I think the SwissChamp would fit in some of them very nicely and it would allow you to carry the SAK horizontal.

I was thinking of maybe making a hanger out of hemp, but i didnt know if you all had any other ideas. I mean, if i have to i can put it in my pocket, but its just a pain. I'm afraid of losing it if im jumping around or something. People are pretty handy here, and some things people say i would have never thought of. I'd love a horizontal carry, but im limited in money so what i have around here is what i can use haha.

Depending on circumstances, I use an nylon belt pouch or a shoestring belt hanger, suspending the Swisschamp along the back seam of my RF pocket, attached to a quick release shackle. This works best with jeans, which I wear 95% of the time, or other high pocket, snug fitting pants. Hardly know it's there until needed. When trekking, the pouch works better. In fact, I just recently returned from a week of tramping around a whole bunch of New Mexico desert with exactly that on my hip. Carried in a belt pouch, the Champ is less noticeable than other essentials, such as a water bottle. Also, I was wearing looser fitting pants more suitable for the climate. In those circumstances, I don't want to put heavy stuff in my pockets that can shift when a little scrambling is necessary. For normal city wear, I like my shoestring rig. But frankly, these days my usually EDC is a Charge TTi. The New Mexico trip was an exception.
