The blades and tools on my Swiss Tool are so tight that I have to use another tool to pry them out. I have tried holding the lock open to reduce spring tension but that doesn't seem to help. I oiled the pivots but still no help. The knife blades, saw, and file are long enough that I can get them out sometimes but I have bent my finger nails back too many times trying to get the other tools out. What should I do to loosen this tool up?

Im not sure what to tell you as in how to loosen it up, but I will make a suggestion....Send it back to where you got it and get another one. I've tried many a Swiss Tools and Ive never seen one like the one you described. Think you just got hold of a bad one is all.

Yeah, considering the retail price of the Swiss Tool,I'd return it.I've bought stuff that needed a little oil and breaking in,but this sounds like it may be a lemon.

Mine was a little stiff, but nothing like you describe. I would send it back as well.

I'll jump in with another send it back. I had one and it sounds like it was much smoother. BTW, I like the swisstool over all others.

The first knife was probably used to cut stuff.
