I really want a (one hand)Trekker but I don't want the serrated blade. I really missed the boat on this one! Is it possible and if so, how hard would it be for me to change the serrated blade out for a non-serrated blade?
I'm real handy with this kind of thing but I haven't seen the guts of one of these knives so I don't even know if it's possible.

Thanx for your help with this.

Have you considered the RangerGrip 78? Same tool complement, but bigger with a longer non-serrated blade and a longer, more useful saw. No mods necessary!

I actually prefer the non-one hand versions. The humps in the blade for the opening holes get in the way when you're using the saw or any of the other non-knife tools.

I agree, the RG78 is a good choice. The blade can easily be opened with one hand. The tools are good sized and the screwdriver blade locks when you put pressure on it in the open position.

I‘d guess the blade could be replaced just like other SAKs. I just sharpened the serrations off with a corse stone.

I had (and still have) a Victorinox Trekker for a long time and as soon as I started carrying it I ground away the serrations. That became my main work knife for many years because I didn't care if I scuffed up the blades. The blade won't be as wide as when new but it's still very usable. The world is what you make it.....
