In this article I just read, the writer states that the Victorinox Waiter, "has a beer opener/screwdriver, cutting blade and a wine cork puller, tweezers and a tooth pick. What else does a Man need?"

What do you think? Is he right? :)

If your waiter is new enough, it will also have the little hole in the scale near the corkscrew where you can put a straight pin.

Is a waiter all you need...it depends on who you are and what you need to do. In my case, no. I've carried a waiter for a couple years, but I also carry a full size lock blade knife and a full size multi-tool. The waiter is mainly a back-up blade and has the tweezers/corkscrew/toothpick missing from the multi-tool

A bottle of wine and/or a sixpack. Also pleasant, agreeable company. With these ingredients a person can have the best time ever, in my opinion (dessert and music also good :) .)

whatever knife, or knives, i am carrying, i always have a waiter tucked away. it's a truly great backup. i use the tools much more often than the blade, because i cut with my primary knife. i love the waiter and wouldn't trade for it. I've been caught one too many times without a corkscrew or an eyeglass screwdriver to leave this little gem at home. It totally disappears until it's needed.

The article neglected to mention that the cap lifter is also a can opener.

In a pinch it could be handy to have but I would much prefer to have a real wine opener.

I much prefer to have the Phillips screwdriver on my SAKs.
