Has anyone returned a swiss army knife/multitool back to victorinox for service? What are your experiences?

I heard Leatherman's warranty service is good but I havent heard much on Victorinox.

Im thinking about sending my knife in for them to fix cause the 2 plastic handle covers for the knife is separating from the metal (the plastic part where the victorinox logo is on). It's a Victorinox classic. Don't know if its gonna be worth sending back for service.

I've dealt with them at least four times about service issues.

I give them as gifts..., and have never had a problem of any kind getting fast "fix-it" service of any kind.

What are their rules regarding sending something in for service? Like how it should be shipped, postage, packaging, attaching a note indicating whats wrong. Also do they pay to ship back?

If I'm sending it in, the most I will do is send it in a bubble envelope and mail it first class because its small and lightweight. I don't want to spend more for mailing it in than what the value of the knife is.

I don't know about a written warranty, but they stand behind their products 100 %. From what I've heard, they usually repair their knives without asking questions about how the damage occured or demanding money.
