I'm looking for a specific combo of tools in a Victorinox SAK.
I've only found one that comes close on several European sites.
Forget about that, though, with the VAT and shipping costs.
So I'm wondering, who in North America has the absolute best selection of Victorinox?
I have searched all over the net to no avail.
Perhaps some of you have a line on a good dealer that I may have missed.
Thanks,
Lenny

Only dealer I use is Swiss Army Express, at -- you guessed it -- swissarmyexpress.com

However, that isn't going to help you much. They don't have the best selection. Maybe tell us which features you want, and we'll (or I'll, at least) see if I know of one? There might be a discontinued model that you'd need to find in some obscure place, etc...

JamesA,
Thanks, I'll look there.
I'm really looking for the Sportsman, but like I said, I've only found it overseas. My main criteria is that it have a nail file, the std blade/screwdriver/can opener/cap lifter combo, maybe a corkscrew, tweezers, and toothpick.
Just bought the Cadet which is Alox like my Soldier, but in a smaller size, with the nail file replacing the awl.
Let me know if you find any better combos.

That's kind of tough.

If I were you, I'd get a Spartan and a keychain sized one with a nail file -- even a classic.

Outside of that, seems like you'd need to take a couple of extra things to get that combination on one readily available knife.

Lenny: Try EKNIFEWORKS, (Smokey Mtn) they had some European SAKs with the nail file inplace of the small blade a while ago, and priced to sell well under $20.00. Might also want to consider Wenger SAK which has many models configured this way.

Lenny,
There is a guy on ebay that sells the Sportsman on an almost continuous basis. I can't remember his name but do a search for swiss army knife. He (or she) doesn't call it a Sportsman though. I think they call it a Worker or Assistant.

Try Willey Made Knives.

They usually have the entire line or very close to it and they are always helpful. They don't have a web site right now. Call 302-349-4070 and speak to Gerald or Gerry father and daughter.

They leave for the Shot Show in a couple of days but they are open each day and often answer the phone after hours. Give them a try. They will also do a superb job of sharpening the blades to new angles if you wish. I always get them to custom sharpen each of the edges and tools on my SAKs to suit me.
