I recently asked a question on this forum about the use of the hook on a Victorinox knife, and I appreciate all the folks who kindly took a few moments to respond.

Now, one more question: how do you strip wires using the notch in the bottle opener? I have stripped wires before using a knife blade, but I am wondering how the notch is used for this task.

I would cut the wire's casing with a blade, and then use the notch to assist in sliding the casing off.
 
You hold the wire in the notch by bending it against the blade and holding the blade at about a 30-45 degree angle to the wire then pull. this only works with small wire otherwise you have to cut the insulation and use the notch to help you pull the insulation off.
