Anyone seen any of these in retail stores lately? I believe they are not longer made.

I saw 2 campers with the "camping" and tent logo in display cases in a retail store, but they did not have one in stock and didn't want to sell the display models . The reason the clerk gave me was that the display cases could not be opened. I didn't really believe that because one of them had a lock. Still kind of bummed about it. The store I was in reminded me of the surly owners in a lot of comic book stores. I can only imagine what made them become what they are.

They have one at a Wellington Surplus in Perth. Never considered picking on up since I don't like 3 layered SAK's. Although if they are no longer made, I might have to scoop one up.

Did they really stop making those scales? It's possible that they may only release them in Europe now and swiss-knife.com has them listed. You could check ebay. The Camper model has silver paint inlaid in the Camping logo and the Ranger has a solid tent and the logo is actual metal. I got a Ranger like that off of ebay.

Thanks! Though I admit I have not carried a SAK larger than 58mm for a while. But I always have one close by.

I'm pretty sure they stopped making them, so I would scoop one up if you see one.

Three layer SAKs are still pocketable, and even though I usually carry s soldier or two layer smaller SAK (lumberjack), I think I might be OK if I found a camper with the logo on it. Thanks!

I have a camping version that is still new in the box. It was given to me by my father in law about 15 years ago, and I don't know how long he had it before he gave it to me...
I just went and looked, and it has a metal tent and lettering, not painted.
I don't know much about them, but wasn't aware that some were painted, and some were metal.

Its a nicely made knife, I just never used it

Does it have just the saw in addition to the blades/screwdrivers or does it also have the file and scissors?

Mine has the saw, but no scissors or file. I have to say, the saw looks great. Very useful design. Looks like it would work very well...
It had been an awful long time since I had it out of the box to look at it, and wasn't really sure what all it had

That's neat info. I thought only the Ranger got the metal inlays. And that saw, the most effective small woodsaw I've ever used.

Yes, the small Victorinox woodsaw is great and the main reason why I carry a Farmer or Huntsman on camping trips.

The Camper model in general makes for a good pocketknife for emergency/disaster preparedness, imo.

Just wanted to rehash this to say I got one! Found one in the knife case at the local supermarket! Maybe not as robust as the Farmer, but lightweight, strong, with more implements and cool nonetheless!
