Victorinox with logo on the backside?

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a used Victorinox Spartan. It is unusual because the Victorinox logo is on the backside (i.e., with the corkscrew). It does seem to be one of those made as advertisement for a given company. Could that have been the reason for change in logo position? Since I've never seen it before, I'm wondering how unusual that is? Maybe it was just a phase...

I picked up a tourist to leave at my ex-in-laws house when I go visit, if I take the plane. It was an advertising knife from a bank. Interesting about mine is the absence of tweezers.

No tweezers, huh? That's something is really come to expect, one of the main reasons I cannot get behind alox models.

Your also has the ad on the front scale, so maybe that's what this is all about... I was thinking of sanding off the ad in my case, but that might just make even more unusual.

My first job was in a Swiss software startup. We ordered them with our logo on the backside, and gave them away at conferences to good customers. Used to cost just a few cents below $20 back then (30 years ago), so customers weren't worried about corruption laws.

It is actually a pretty common occurrence.

If the SAK has a company logo or is a promotional item, the Victorinox sign would be printed on the other side. Sometimes, you could even get SAK with logo on the blade side, even without the company logo on the other side.(see my yellow explorer in the picture, it has no company logo on the other side)

edit: just notice it is a necro thread from 5 years ago...o_O

interesting I have a ton of "classics" advertising knives- courtesy of the TSB and they are both ways with logo on one side (blade) and advertising other side or the other way around. The Waiter has no VIC logo at all just a tang mark
